Hi, I’m Tess—storyteller, designer, and coffee enthusiast.
I’m a marketing communications professional living in Ashland, Wisconsin. I love creating content that gets people excited. From social media campaigns to full-on brand strategies, I’m all about making sure every message lands. Whether it’s designing, writing, or strategizing, I love diving into different roles and bringing my creativity to every project. I’ve played a lot of roles—writer, designer, strategist, problem-solver—and thrive in roles where I can do a little bit of everything.
As the director of integrated communications and media relations at Northland College, I lead the charge in institutional branding, media relations, crisis communications, and digital marketing. I have navigated complex transitions, crafted messaging that resonated, and supported leadership in shaping the college’s public presence during both growth and challenge—including guiding the communications team as the school goes through the process of closure.
My chihuahua’s name is Aurora—like the Disney princess, not the sky. When I’m not in content creation or marketing mode, I’m probably out exploring with my partner, reading a new thriller, or daydreaming about my next big idea over too much coffee.
Looking ahead.
I am seeking a new role in the world of marketing communications. Although I’ve traveled around for work historically with programs like AmeriCorps VISTA and Blueprint Schools Network, I have now planted roots in the Chequamegon Bay area and am looking for either local or remote work that brings me purpose and joy.
I turn ideas into impact. Let’s build something great together.
