northland college | ashland, wisconsin
Pre-closure announcement, I was tasked with leading overall communications strategy for Northland College, including branding, media outreach, social media management, and crisis communications. I increased overall media coverage and developed integrated campaigns that amplified the college’s messaging during pivotal times in the recent history. Additionally, I cultivated relationships with local and regional media outlets, showcasing student achievements and sharing out the Northland Story and the impact it had in the Chequamegon Bay community.

I successfully developed and distributed 30+ press releases, boosting overall media reach. I managed the institutional social media content calendar that averaged 30+ posts per month, coordinating cross-departmental meetings to ensure cohesive brand messaging across platforms. By collaborating with third-party vendor Viden Marketing, I was able to support in optimizing paid ad campaigns, adapting content swiftly to increase reach and engagement based on data-driven insights.

I led the development and execution of comprehensive marketing strategies that supported key institutional initiatives. I streamlined project workflows by implementing Monday.com as the project management tool for the marketing department, reducing departmental project turnaround time by over 25%. I also played a key role in internal communications, fostering stronger collaboration across departments and driving engagement through targeted email campaigns and donor engagement strategies.

I was responsible for developing and executing visual and written content across a variety of platforms, including social media, print, and web. I increased social media engagement through the creation of visually compelling posts and strategic storytelling that aligned with the college’s brand. Additionally, I created all fliers and completed campus marketing requests for print materials and digital content creation.

Blueprint Schools Network | East St. Louis, ILlinois
During my two years at Blueprint Schools Network, I had the privilege of working closely with third and fourth-grade students, helping them build confidence and skills in math through daily small-group tutoring. As a fellow, I saw firsthand how personalized instruction could spark a love of learning, and as a lead fellow, I had the opportunity to mentor new fellows and collaborate with teachers to ensure our support made a real impact. Many of my students showed measurable growth in their math proficiency, gaining the skills they needed to get them to their grade-level expectations. Beyond academics, I watched them develop resilience, problem-solving abilities, and a belief in their own potential.
Professionally, this experience strengthened my ability to deliver data-driven instruction, manage multiple student learning plans, and adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse needs. As a lead fellow, I honed my leadership skills by coaching new fellows, providing constructive feedback, and fostering a collaborative learning environment. My time at Blueprint deepened my passion for educational equity and equipped me with the skills to communicate effectively, analyze student progress, and drive meaningful outcomes—both in the classroom and beyond.

vipkid | REMOTE
VIPKid is a global online education platform that connects English teachers with students in China, offering an immersive learning experience. I taught English to students ranging from ages 2 to 16, tailoring lessons to meet the unique needs of each age group. As a fully certified instructor across all levels, I provided engaging, one-on-one instruction that helped students build their language skills and confidence.
Teaching in this fast-paced, remote environment required exceptional time management, adaptability, and self-discipline as I managed my own schedule, prepared lesson plans, and maintained student engagement across different learning styles. This experience strengthened my ability to work independently, communicate cross-culturally, and leverage digital tools to create dynamic and effective virtual learning spaces.

AMERICORPS VOLUTEER IN SERVICE TO AMERICA (VISTA) | MONTANA
I was promoted to the role of VISTA Leader at Rural Dynamics Inc., and moved to Great Falls, Montana, to take on the new leadership opportunity. In this position, I served as a mentor and liaison for VISTA members across the state, providing support and guidance to help them navigate their service years. I organized and led monthly webinar trainings, offering a platform for members to gain new knowledge and share experiences. I managed our social media presence and worked with the local marketing firm to coordinate paid ad campaigns for recruitment.
I conducted host site visits, helping new sites apply for VISTA members and ensuring they had the support needed to thrive. Working in eGrants, I wrote postings, created Volunteer Assignment Descriptions (VADs), and actively recruited new members to join the program. Over the course of my service year, I successfully recruited and on-boarded nine new VISTA members, expanding the program's reach and deepening its impact across Montana.
What was truly enlightening during this experience was seeing the VISTA members working across the state and the incredible difference they were making in their communities. The dedication and passion I saw in each of them re-instilled my passion for nonprofit work and community development. It reaffirmed how fulfilling it is to be part of something that brings positive change and strengthens communities. AmeriCorps reminded me of the power of service, and I carry that motivation forward in all my work today.

During my AmeriCorps VISTA service with the Anaconda Community Foundation (ACF), I worked to strengthen the nonprofit sector in Anaconda by fostering collaboration, increasing resource-sharing, and expanding training opportunities. I spearheaded the creation of the Anaconda Nonprofit Association (ANA), developing its website, launching an online volunteer database, and designing a training program covering essential skills like grant writing, volunteer management, and networking. By bringing together local organizations, I helped build a sustainable network that enhanced the collective capacity of Anaconda’s nonprofits to serve the community more effectively.
Beyond nonprofit capacity-building, I also played a key role in organizing major fundraising initiatives, including GivingTuesday and the Montana Gives Giving Day, which exceeded gift targets and engaged the community in philanthropic efforts.
I also served as the Anaconda Community Market Master, building the market from the ground up. I recruited vendors, coordinated weekly entertainment, and secured a grant to enable EBT/SNAP acceptance, ensuring greater accessibility for community members. The market still happens every summer in Anaconda, Montana.
Overall, my service here was deeply rewarding, allowing me to develop meaningful connections, drive lasting impact, and support the essential work of Anaconda’s nonprofits in their mission to alleviate poverty and strengthen the community.
